Atherstone Convent

The convent was closed & demolished in 1967. This date comes from The History of Atherstone by Watts & Winyard.Various authors give other dates. An altar was given to St Mary’s Church in Atherstone where it was incorporated into the Lucy Chapel.

Those buried in the (convent) graveyard were re interred at the Sheepy Road Cemetary in Atherstone. The railed area has a large stone giving details. Some original burials dated from 1841.
