  1. Dorid Bridge says:

My ancestors were born in places in the Forest of Arden e.g. William Kymberlie was born in Maxstoke in 1440 and I have gained much information of how he lived and probably what he did from the essays of Andrew Watkins but have failed at the momen to go any further back. There is another family with the name Orton – the first of which was born on the border of Warwickshire in 1436. In this connection I am looking for the parents of William Orton born in Polesworth in 1610. Later in 1722 a member of this family married into the Kymberies (later called Kymberley). I am the last of the family and the thread of Kimberley goes down to me. I live in Essex and I find the Forest of Arden fascinating. I have, however, traced the owners of the land back to France when they must have come over at the time of William. There were many ups and downs in that history with many falling foul of later Kings!
