I have been sent a copy of my 4 x great Grandmother Elizabeth Wright’s (nee Turner) death certificate. She died in 1849 in Long Street Atherstone. The informant was an Elizabeth Orlon ?? (unsure of spelling on surname) she lived at Wrights Yard, Long Street Atherstone. Elizabeth Wright’s husband was John Wright (b.abt 1780 Mancetter), (Hatter). Their 6th child John Immigrated to Australia along with his family. Elizabeths parents were John and Ann Turner. Johns parents were John Wright and Mary Farmer.
Can anyone help with information on these people and also Wrights Yard. I see it is not on the list of Atherstone Yards.

In the 1841 census an Elizabeth Wright is a victualler
in Long St between the two public houses, The Black Horse and The Hat & Beaver. With her is a 20 yr old William who is probably her son christened in 1820 according to http://www.familysearch.org
In 1851 census, William is still there a retailler of beer and a brazier journeyman. ( Is this what we would call a welder today?)
In 1861 William is keeping The Hat & Beaver.
During these years, a neighbour, John Fox, does not move house. In 1841 his house is recorded as Long St, in 1851 Wrights Yard, and in 1861 Old Plough Yard.
The modern houses in Old Plough Close have been replaced in recent years and the area re named Tannery Close, the Tannery having been at that spot on Long St.
So Wrights Yard was where Tannery Close is today.
